Medal’s analysis of 8+ million gamers reveals social connection and shareable moments are eclipsing pure gameplay with Roblox topping charts and REPO, Marvel Rivals’ rise signaling new trends

In honor of National Video Games Day, the platform today released their State of Gaming Report revealing how Gen Z and Gen Alpha gamers play, create, and engage with their favorite titles.
The report analyzed over 58 million user sessions since January 2025 across Medal’s 25 most-played games, representing over 33 million hours of content captured and over 11.5 million clips shared. The new data reveals the top 25 games by three key metrics: total play sessions, total clips created (“clippability”), and total clips shared (“shareability”).
