February 11, 2025 at 10:07 AM EST - On the 10th anniversary of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, J.S. Held celebrates women's vital contributions to scientific fields and highlights the importance of gender equality in advancing scientific progress. Begun as a collaboration between the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and UN Women, in partnership with institutes and civil society partners, the day shines a bright light on the ongoing need to support education, career opportunities, and professional advancement for women in science and mathematics.

J.S. Held proudly embraces and contributes to this goal by fostering an environment where women with scientific expertise – one of the firm's core specialties – are empowered to grow, lead, and make a meaningful impact in the industries and communities J.S. Held serves.

J.S. Held counts among their more than 1500 technical, scientific, financial, and risk management experts, many of whom are women - pioneers in fields that span accident reconstruction; building consulting; builder's risk; construction advisory; economic damages & valuations; digital investigations; environmental, health, and safety; equipment consulting; forensic accounting; forensic architecture & engineering; global investigations; human factors & user experience; intellectual property; sustainability; and ESG.

Marjan Panah, Chief People Officer, observes, "What makes J.S. Held stand out is the breadth of expertise and diversity of our people. We leverage our different backgrounds, experiences, and skill sets to deliver unique value to our clients across a wide range of matters and geographies. Our leaders and communities ensure team members feel welcomed, respected and appreciated."

Today, the firm also recognizes all the women and men who support the J.S. Held Women's Initiative Network (WIN), which supports and further builds female leadership across the company and provides mentorship to the next generation of talent. With the advocacy of company leaders, WIN leverages a strategic mix of programming to inspire diverse mindsets, expand professional capabilities, and provide access to a network of champions, mentors, and advocates.

"The Women's Initiative Network is just one of the incredible ways that J.S. Held connects its co-workers through shared learning and mentorship. It is just one of the things we do to honor our world-class team," says Jonathon Held, J.S. Held Chief Executive Officer.
